Beware the Pox!

by Jonathan Robe

Yesterday afternoon, the Cato Institute hosted a lively discussion on for-profit colleges. My favorite quote from the panel came from Neal McCluskey:
A pox on all your Ivory Towers!
Well, that's certainly one way to put it. It does, though, quite nicely make the point that the big problems in higher ed are by no means isolated to the for-profit colleges. As we've been saying at CCAP for a long time now, these problems (e.g., lack of accountability, waste of resources, abuse of taxpayer funding) exist in all the sectors, from the Ivies to the public land grant colleges to the career colleges.
